My Bio

Trading stocks is not easy. If it were, then everyone would be doing it. Since I am not able to monitor the market fulltime, my trading style is in a state of flux depending upon the current market conditions. For the past few months, my positions are very short term...3 days max...with very tight stops. I try to make entries/exits at certain moving averages and trendlines. My cardinal rule I try to follow (most of the time) is: Trading what you WANT the market to do, instead of what it IS doing is always dangerous.

  • FOR MY FRIENDS

as many of you know, i am not a full-time trader...but, i have a pretty good feel on various patterns of price movement based on 8 years following the market.  i would be available to comment on any stocks you want me to look at.  i offer this service with the intent in sharpening my personal chartist skills.  during these volatile times, just wanted to let ya'lls know, i'm here for you.

When using stocks for long term, i.e. months to years for an IRA, the basic rule is buy on weakness....sell on strength.  Strength is defined as price movement over 30% over 2 - 3 trading days.  Sell a certain % of "full position" with the intent of buying more on weakness.  When stock approaches daily 20, 50 or 200MA, sell a little expecting profit taking with the intent of buying at lower price.  As time goes, the initial position would increase in size when buying more stocks cheaper with "house money".  As of today, my position is 3x the size of initial position.  Look at enclosed annotated chart.  If you have any specific questions, hit me back.

Allan,    Thanks for ABK. I'm in and writing OTM covers, and after it held up so well today, feel I'm in a good defensive position. Your insight and trading style are admirable. I've started walking away from the computer during the day, and now the cat it getting really fat!.  Thanks.
